In our EVS project we are volunteer for two non governmental organisations, one of this is Cyprus Red Cross Society and the other one is YEU Cyprus (our hosting organisation).
Our everyday schedule consists mainly the Cyprus Red Cross volunteering. At this particular moment Eloisa (Spain) and Sara (Italy) conducted an employment project for the immigrants, Eleni (Greece) is in contact with the persons in need coming to the NGO and Luca (France) is conducting another project with volunteers from Italy Tatiana Cerretani and Sara Rotondi.
On the other part, with our hosting organisation we carry out various events for subjects such as minorities, refugees, asylum seekers, racism, homophobia and xenophobia etc
Finally we organise a variety of workshops with ladies being victims of human trafficking... so we have a really busy agenda!
The bottom line of this volunteering is that you both give and receive, you offer a lot of happiness and smiles and at the same time you learn a lot by news points of view and by different kinds of people.
We should also mention that an important part of our volunteering is giving free lessons of our mother tongue to people that are eager to learn either Italian,Spanish or Greek language.
